2014 Jaguar XF

The Jaguar XJ and XF are all set to receive a brand new V6 by 2014. The rising fuel prices have certainly affected the luxury car market as well. Most manufacturers have started offering an entry level V6 for the less spirited chauffeurs

The engine will be used across all global markets, replacing the Ford-based 3.0L V6. The expected power will be around 300 bhp and Jaguar is targeting 11.9 kmpl.

It makes sense to have an entry level petrol model with less focus on performance and more on fuel efficiency.

2012 Jaguar XF Likely to Debut at the 2011 New York Auto Show

Jaguar will reportedly premiere the 2012 Jaguar XF at the 2011 New York Auto Show that will commence in April. The 2012 Jaguar XF is to be powered by a four-cylinder 2.2-liter diesel engine that is expected to be one of the most fuel efficient units in the XF lineup.

Currently, a diesel variant of the Jaguar XF is already available in European markets and is powered by a 3.0-liter engine. Meanwhile, the 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine that is to power the 2012 Jaguar XF will be similar to the one that will power the Rover Evoque. It is expected to yield nearly 200 hp and produce CO2 emissions of 150 g/km.

According to 4wheelsnews, Jaguar intends to incorporate a strategy similar to that of Audi and BMW with the forthcoming 2.2 liter Jaguar XF diesel variant. Apparently, the Audi A6 and the BMW 5-Series that are powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine have found favor with the crowd.

Meanwhile, the design of the revamped XF will likely have new LED headlights, a modified front bumper, new taillights and a new rear apron.

Our cunning spy photographers caught this Jaguar XF prototype trolling around Europe. It seems with the all-new new, bigger XJ on the streets, officials thought it best to refresh the aging XF sedan's form

Camouflage predominantly hides this tester's nose and tail -- the two areas expected to get the most XJ-esque reshaping. The headlamps, for example, become slimmer; the tight matrix grille more upright; and the triplet of lower inlets sleeker. Look closely and you'll notice a bulbous, chiseled hood.

Rumors maintain that a few interior modifications will arrive with the refresh, as will a revised engine range. An XF wagon should arrive simultaneously with the sedan, too. Exactly when they'll hit the market is still anyone's guess.

Here are the latest spy shots of the upcoming facelifted 2012 Jaguar XF.Spied for the first time winter testing in Scandinavia, the modest update that the XF will get is not easily being given away here. In fact, the camouflage maybe tells us there will be substantial stylistic revisions to both the front and rear ends of the car.

The design changes to the front fascia appear to include a larger grille and new headlights. At the back is a new taillight cluster and a revised bumper. But since Jag is still covering body panels such as the side wings (front and back) as well as the bonnet and trunk, there may be even more changes to the XF's styling coming than we've been able to spot.

No new power plants are expected under the hood but a future Jaguar XF model range may also sport a hybrid variant, as Jaguar showed such a prototype last year.

The first ever Police-spec XF is about to go on patrol across the Midlands. The Central Motorway Police Group, which patrols motorways across Staffordshire, Mercia and the West Midlands has bought seven high performance Police vehicles based on the award-winning Jaguar XF Diesel S model.

A roof mounted light bar with 3600 blue flashing lights and integrated side alley lights, blue and white flashing LED lights inside the front grille, side mounted blue flashing LED lights, blue and red flashing LED lights integrated in the rear light clusters and a Home Office-specification electronics 'Police pack' that powers a full suite of electronic equipment help make these cars the ultimate Police vehicles.

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director for Jaguar Cars UK, said: "Police drivers demand the very best from their vehicles power, performance, safety and comfort are all very important, while their fleet managers are looking at good environmental credentials and strong residual values to ensure value for money.

Police forces across the country have been evaluating the XF and we are delighted that the team at the Central Motorway Police Group has chosen Jaguar to join its fleet.

The Jaguar XF beats other contenders with a fuel economy figure of 42mpg and an excellent CO2 rating of 179 g/km.
