2012 Jaguar XJ Speed and Sport Packages

The Sport pack is designed to give the Jaguar XJ a more athletic appearance, thanks to sportier body components and a new wheel design. A new front splitter helps reduce lift, and an enlarged trunklid spoiler helps improve high-speed stability. The front grille gets gloss-black mesh, the brake calipers are painted red, and the new 20-inch wheel designs are called "Venom."

"Performance version" seats headline the interior changes; they have larger bolsters and are upholstered in leather. There also are stainless-steel pedals and carbon-fiber trims.

XJ models with the 470-hp, supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 can be further upgraded with the Speed pack, which raises the car's top-speed limiter from 155 mph to 174 mph. Along with recalibrating the speed limiter, the Speed pack necessitates reprogramming the digital dashboard display and the tire-pressure monitoring system. Jaguar says the XJ is capable of traveling at such speeds only due to the fact that the Sport package improves the car's aerodynamic performance.
